Investment Intern

AAM is an institutional investment management firm dedicated to serving the insurance industry. We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our marketing, operations, and investment teams for Summer 2026.

Job Description

The Marketing & Investments Intern will gain exposure to fixed income, convertible, and equity markets while supporting key initiatives across marketing, data integrity, analytics, and investment operations. This full‑time internship offers hands‑on experience inside an institutional asset manager, providing insight into how the firm attracts, services, and retains its clients.

A central component of the role includes supporting AAM’s June 2026 Investment Conference, a multi‑day client event in Chicago that brings together current and prospective clients, consultants, and industry experts. The intern will assist in planning, coordination, and execution to ensure a smooth and successful conference experience. Beyond the event, the intern will contribute to firm‑wide projects that offer exposure to multiple functional areas, including marketing, operations, portfolio management, and investment accounting.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist the Head of Marketing with planning and executing the AAM Investment Conference, ensuring event strategy, logistics, and attendee deliverables are completed, and providing onsite support during the conference (June 24–25).
• Support the marketing team in reviewing and validating data integrity as part of a transition to a new CRM platform.
• Attend investment team presentations to build understanding of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and investment concepts.
• Work with Power BI to support data integration efforts, including connecting datasets.
• Configure CW AI agents to automate data checks and export datasets for reporting and analytical use.
• Partner with the Investment Team to document existing processes and develop a comprehensive workflow inventory.
• Contribute to the development of a Portfolio Manager Cash Sheet dashboard by assisting in the build‑out of the environment.
• Build and maintain data environments that support reporting for equity ETF holdings. Respond to daily cross‑functional data requests from teams across the firm, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science, Accounting, or a related field
• Strong interest in financial markets, investment management, or the insurance industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
• Positive attitude, team‑oriented mindset, and strong work ethic
• Detail‑oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
• Basic familiarity with data tools such as Excel; exposure to Power BI, SQL, or Python is a plus but not required
• Comfort working with data sets, performing quality checks, and learning new technology platforms
• Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and take initiative in a fast‑paced professional environment
• Willingness to participate in event coordination and client‑facing preparation
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn about marketing processes, operational workflows, and investment concept
